Item Description

A very sculptural and colorful small cabinet matrix calcite from famed Tsumeb. Two artistically intergrown, stout, glassy, highly lustrous mostly colorless rhombs have fantastic, classic, stepped-growth faces and are very aesthetically set on the matrix plate. The bit of included Hematite on the lower right and green Duftite crust at the top are typical and very fine accessories. The exquisite frontal display view is essentially pristine, with only a trivial bit of edge scuffing noted. The right side of the calcite on the right side is cleaved. Ex Shields Flynn Collection and illustrated on Page 22 of his 2018 self-published book, Minerals of Namibia - From the Collection of Shields and Frances Flynn. Tsumeb, like Dalnegorsk, is renowned for calcite diversity and quality and this is a very fine combination example of this varietal. A classic Tsumeb calcite.
