Calcite w/ clay inclusions (James Maples Coll.)

Item Description

Mineral specimens are uncommon from this less well-known mine relative to the famous Sweetwater and Brushy Creek Mines of the Viburnum Trend. This unusual looking calcite specimen features stout, well-aranged prisms with interesting preferential gray clay inclusions in the presentation view. The backs of the crystals showy the lustrous, translucent, normal amber color of the calcites. The nifty matrix on the back is brecciated limestone.
