Item Description

Calcite specimens of this richnes and unusual quality are very uncommon from this well-known New Mexico locale. This is a striking two-sided rib. One side is composed of very glassy, colorless, calcite scalenohedrons. The other side has larger calcites, to 3.0 cm, BUT they are richly included with chlorite! Essentially pristine! and nearly a floater, with only one small attachment point on the base. A fascinating old-time, two-sided piece with weird chemistry! Choice material from the Bob Trimingham Collection. Neon-orange fluorescence on the colorless side, only! A must for the species or locality collector.
