Calcite w/ Chalcedony (Payne Coll.)

Item Description

A very fine calcite specimen from Jalgaon and the Cynthia Payne Calcite Collection. A sharp, glassy, transparent to translucent calcite rhombs, 6.0 cm on the diagonal, is dramatically perched on a stalk of matrix. Drusy quartz covers part of the striking display front and the rest of the piece, including the matrix. Complete all-around and nearly pristine. A small cleave along the lower right upper edge is noted, but certainly has minimal impact to the overall high quality and aesthetics of this piece. MUCH BETTER IN PERSON.
