Calcite w/ Azurite (Soregaroli Coll.)

Item Description

A very colorful, showy and unusual Tsumeb combination plate from the Art Soregaroli Collection. A myriad of sharp, glassy, translucent, calcite rhombs have a beautiful coating of yellow iron oxides and a bit of orange on the right side. Mostly hidden behind the contact in the center is a 2.6 cm, blocky, lustrous azurite crystal. The lower two-thirds of the sides of the azurite have been pseuomorphed by malachite. The bright yellow coated calcites are uncommon and excellent for Tsumeb.
