Item Description

A highly aesthetic and classic specimen of these renowned Calcites from Pachapaqui. Soft pink, almost angelic, "feathery" scalenohedra of manganese-bearing Calcite aesthetically sit atop a mound of sparkling white Quartz which are associated with small, yet distinct, "cogwheel"-shaped aggregates of steel-grey Bournonite! Most of the Calcite crystals are intact, though a few are contacted. The largest Calcite measures 5.0 cm long and is doubly-terminated. The specimen displays very well from two angles. This is a specimen from the personal collection of Richard A. Kosnar (well-known dealer and the namesake for the species Kosnarite), and is one of the better pieces of this appealing and now hard to find material that we have offered for sale. Priced at $1,800 in the inventory.
