Here we have a particularly sculptural display specimen from the Huanggang Mine featuring robust "feather"-like aggregates of lustrous, translucent pink manganese-bearing Calcite, free of matrix. The piece is in excellent shape on the front, but it's not complete on the back where it was intergrown with the pocket wall. It's still notably showy and eye-catching, as these are some of the most recognizable Calcite specimens, not just from this mine, but any Chinese locality. A lovely small cabinet from this prolific locality in Inner Mongolia. The piece shows attractive orange fluorescence under SW UV light. Valued $2,500.
