Item Description
This mineralogical oddball actually features 1.8 cm, orange-brown crystals of Calcite pseudomorphing a rare calcium carbonate, Ikaite. This particular variety of Calcite, when after Ikaite, is commonly known as "Glendonite". Although these oddities are admittedly esoteric and hard to explain, visually they can be spectacular, like this one.
