Item Description
An exceptional, sculptural and pristine 360-degree floater example of one of the most unusual pseudomorphs in the Mineral Word - brown Calcite variety Glendonite replacing Ikaite scalenohedrons. The dramatic 5.5 cm spire rests in the middle of the radiating cluster of pseudos. Ikaite is hydrated calcium carbonate, that readily dehydrates to Calcite above 8 degrees centigrade (MINDAT). Glendonite is the name given to Calcite pseudomorphs after Ikaite. From the Kola Peninsula of Russia. An outstanding RARE style pseudomorph from the Bill and Anne Cook Collection. A MUST for the pseudomorph or locality collector.
