Calcite var. Cuprian (rare 1990s find!)

Fantastic large cabinet green Calcite specimen with well defined stacked "nail-head" rhombs on a thin sheet of gray host rock. It is showcased by its glowing internal light apple green color and wonderful striated crystal faces. The intergrown flattened rhombs measure up to 4.3 cm. It is in excellent condition with only a few minor nicks. This color is due to copper content and this piece is from limited Cuprian Calcite finds over 2 decades ago at the Shuikoushan Mine in the 1990s - these are simply impossible to find for sale anymore and we have only seen a few in collections and museums in the last decades. The alluring green color combined with the sharp crystal habit and geometric display make for an excellent addition to any Calcite collection. Very showy and unique material! Ex.
