Calcite var. Cobaltoan

The color on this ridiculously sparkly specimen is simply insane, the absolutel brightest and purest hot pink-red color you can get from this locality in the former Zaire, or really for cobaltian calcite from anywhere. It is otherwise a rather drab matrix, but perhaps that is why the shocking pink color leaps out all the more! Also, the cobaltian calcite crystals are small, but built up in rounded aggregates so it looks like a moving pink river with waves, rolling over the surface - it is not only flat, but built up and three-dimensional. I know that a lot of us have seen hundreds of these things over the years, particularly for awhile in around 2015-2018 when tonnage came out...but this is special. The color shines from across a room. Valued $1500 on our previous label from a few years ago, and frankly ...worth that and more.
