GORGEOUS, single crystal of Cobaltoan Calcite from the famous 1980s finds at this copper cobalt mine. This crystal is gem-clear with a perfect, glassy luster that almost looks faceted, it is so good. What makes this first-rate thumbnail even more appealing is the exceptionally rich pink color. It is just a bit deeper than normal, and combined with the luster it gives the crystal an almost 'metallic' look that borders on incandescent. There is even a small, etched sidecar and a slender quartz or calcite attached, that adds a definite degree of visual and mineral interest.
