Item Description
Here we have a lovely display specimen of the very desirable cobalt-bearing variety of Calcite from the classic Agoudal Mine in Morocco. The crystals are beautiful trigonal prisms with a flashy rich fuchsia hue, and good translucency when backlit. The crystals measure up to about 7 mm, and they glisten with a satiny vitreous hue. One of the most classic localities for the material, which has produced arguably some of the best specimens of this variety of Calcite in the world. The piece has a few contacted areas, so it's not damage free, but the majority of the Calcites are undamaged. Priced at $850 in the inventory.
