Item Description
Please note: I can't find a listing for a locality called "Gallego" in Durango, Mexico, so this locality might not be 100% accurate. With that said, this in an interesting piece for any Calcite collector or a collector of Mexican minerals. Several highly modified / compressed semi-prismatic crystal groups of white Calcite measuring up to 3.2 cm long are flaring out of "disc"-shaped Calcite crystals on host rock matrix. The piece has great aesthetics and is in good shape overall with only a few slight bruises. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#4362). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
