Calcite (unusual habit) (ex Kay Robertson Collection)

Item Description

A really pretty piece featuring iron-included Calcite crystals from Charcas. This piece is a very showy and three-dimensional small cabinet display specimen featuring a predominant, 3.3 cm, sharp, unusually modified scalenohedron surrounded by dozens of smaller crystals with the same reddish inclusions. The main crystal almost has a "smoky" appearance when backlit. The piece is in great condition, and as I look it over, it's nearly a complete "floater", as it's crystallized almost everywhere, save one spot on the back. Very attractive and certainly an oddity from Charcas that would make a great addition to any Calcite or Mexican suite. Wonderful hot pink fluorescence under UV light as well!
