Item Description
Mineral specimens from this ancient mining district are well-known in Europe, but are seldom seen in the US. Frosted, translucent, calcite scalenohedrons with waxy luster form a striking and aesthetic jackstraw cluster on this showy and excellent specimen. The peppering of tiny rubyjack sphalerites is a nifty accent. In great shape, overall. The few gently cleaved tips are barely noticeable. Pink fluorescence. Choice and uncommon material older material, probably from the 1970s, from the Cynthia Payne Calcite Collection. Valued by the former dealer at $350.
