Item Description

The famous Calcites from near La Junta form in nodules / concretions and are "cracked" open to reveal the beautiful crystals inside. This piece features some small, off-golden color rhombohedra of Calcite which are coated by a second generation of larger, isolated, white compressed scalenohedral Calcite crystals. The largest Calcite measures 1.6 cm across. The piece is in great shape overall, and very attractive compared to most I have seen from this area. A worthwhile piece for any Colorado collector or Calcite collector.
