Item Description

A very aesthetic and excellent combination specimen from the famous Sokolovskoe Iron Mine of Kazakhstan. Gemmy and lustrous, nearly transparent, light amber to grayish, twinned calcite crystals are beautifully strewn on the pyrite matirx and superbly accented by tiny gmelinite blades, that look like stilbite crystals. The largest calcites twins are both 3.0 cm. This is a superb, for the species, complete all-around specimen, very nearly pristine, with only two, very trivial spots of edgewear to the calcites. Specimens of this quality were never abundant about 10-15 years ago and have now virtually disappeared from the market. Excellent material from the Jesse Fisher & Joan Kureczka Collection. Valued at $650-800.
