Item Description
Calcite specimens are RARE from the Alpine-type clefts at Tole, famous for the world's finest faden quartz specimens. This exceptional and rich 360-degree small cabinet features aesthetically intergrown gemmy, colorless calcite rhombs with satin lustre faces. The superb, sculptural, dominating doubly terminated and twinned calcite is 4.9 cm wide. Complete all-around and very nearly pristine. The large calcite is pristine and the light bruise to the termination of the secondary rhomb on the skyline is certainly only a modest detraction. A very rare, perhaps unique calcite from this well-known locale. Ex Herb Obodda dealer stock. Herb valued this outstanding calcite at $600, more than 8 years ago. Value today is $800-1000.
