Calcite twins (Cynthia Payne Coll.)

Item Description

Gemmy and lustrous, interpenetrant, golden-amber calcite crystals set on a bit of matrix on the back. This beautiful piece has fine form and has excellent amber color. A couple of the faces are preferentially frosted. These calcites from Kazakhstan came out in the early 1990s. A trivial bit of edge rubbing is noted. Contacting on the lower right, where other crystals once lay, is noted, but is certainly only a minimal detraction. Highly representative of the species and famous find.
