Calcite (twins)

A lovely twinned Calcite from Leiping. These are now some of the most iconic Chinese Calcites extant, and are certainly contemporary classics. This piece features the well-known and highly sought after "butterfly"-twinning habit featuring sharp, well-formed twinned crystals measuring up to 2.7 cm with a strong amount of reddish-brown iron staining. A really showy piece with only minimal damage. Worthwhile for a collector of the material or general Calcites, or just Chinese minerals.
