Item Description
Elegant, very large twinned Calcite crystal. This light amber crystal is almost completely gemmy, save for the inclusions along the twinning plane. The highly lustrous, curved faces add great beauty to the specimen, but at the same time make it almost impossible for the pics to show the true gemminess. A superb Calcite, it has but one small attachment point, otherwise it is pristine. Small associations of okenite accent it. This is from a classic, now very rarely seen pocket from the mid-1980s. I have only ever seen a handful for sale, and at one time they were worth their weight in gold with low gold price combined with the early excitement of all the new material from India. Now, long under a parking lot. This really is a classic, rare find. From the noted Indian subcollection of Charlie Key. valued $750
