Calcite (twinned, old USA classic) ex. Trimingham

Doubly terminated and beautifully twinned, this calcite crystal is lustrous and translucent with a rich honey yellow color. Its matrix is a fine grained sucrosic, white calcite. This is an old classic, rarely seen for sale in such quality today! The previous owner purchased it from great dealer Mark Rogers for $300 in 1990. It was recently collected at that time, probably by Bryan Brookmeyer if I had to guess. Specimens like this are jsut impossible to lay hands on today, and turn up only in old collections. It is a significant and large USA specimen. It sits nicely for display.
