This locality might be best known for its Strontianite crystals, but it has produced some attractive Calcites. This particular piece features a FINE quality, sharp, lustrous, gemmy, pale golden color (nearly colorless), scalenohedral twin of Calcite measuring 2.3 cm aesthetically flaring off matrix. I can't see any damage with the naked eye, and this is a great example of the elusive and fine quality Calcites from this old quarry in Pennsylvania.
