Calcite (twinned) (ex Kay Robertson Collection)

Item Description

A classic, sharp, vitreous, gemmy, golden colored, scalenohedral twinned Calcite crystal which is associated with smaller Calcites from the famous locality at Joplin. You can clearly see the small reentrant angle on the main Calcite. The piece is in good shape on the front / display side, but it's contacted on the bottom / back where it was removed from the pocket. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#3349). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
