This is a beautiful twinned Calcite from Leiping. These are now some of the most iconic Chinese Calcites extant, and are certainly contemporary classics. This piece features the well-known and highly sought after "butterfly"-twinning habit featuring sharp, lustrous, gemmy, colorless twinned crystals with a good amount of reddish iron staining to create a lovely two-tone appearance. A really showy piece with only a tiny bit of roughness on the edge. A worthwhile purchase for a collector of worldwide Calcites, or just Chinese minerals.
