Calcite twin w/ phantom on drusy Dolomite ex Rob Sielecki Coll.

Item Description

A very fine 6.0 cm twinned calcite crystal is dramatically set vertically on drusy dolomite matrix on this sculptural and aesthetic Elmwood small cabinet combination from the Rob Sielecki Collection. The very glassy, lustrous, limpid crystal is nearly colorless to a very light amber. Prism faces are glass-clear to having a satin finish. The water-clear faces at the termination show a striking pronounced phantom, which adds much pizzazz. The sharp termination is all there, with only a couple of trivial wilbers. The crystal would have been doubly terminated, as it is hard to tell, that the lower end is cleaved. A beautifully formed and classic Elmwood calcite with an unusual phantom.
