Calcite twin w/ bitumen inclusions (Consie Prince Coll.)

Classic and colorful large calcite from the famed Elmwood Mine. Most of the sculptural twin has the desirable golden-amber color, especially at the striking sharply tapered gemmy termination. Smaller calcites are a fine accent to the other end, which is further highlighted by numerous bitumen inclusions. This impressive calcite looks like a fish in the horizontal view! The calcite was attached to barite on the back. A wonderful and pristine large Elmwood calcite from the Consie Prince Collection, dating to the 1980s or 90s.
