Calcite twin (rare style - 2009 find)

A beautiful and rare nested-twin calcite rhomb from the 2009 find at this large open pit iron-copper mine complex. The twin faces are clearly visible on the left side of the front of the crystal. The striking, beautiful, 360-degree, sharp, gemmy, glassy, golden-yellow to golden-brown, complex calcite rhomb is nicely set on bit of shale matrix. Complete all-around. A small cleave on the front upper right, a couple of trivial edge bruises on the back, and lower contacts, where other crystals once lay, are noted, but have minimal impact to the overall high quality of this rare twin style from this locale. These caused quite a stir at the 2009 Munich Show and the 2010 Tucson Show.
