Item Description

The renowned Tsumeb Mine is one of the single most impressive and important localities in the history of mineral collecting. This piece is a lovely example of the famous Calcites from this mine featuring a sharp, well-formed, gemmy, twinned crystal group, measuring 1.8 cm across, sitting atop many smaller sparkling Calcite crystals, which are coating green Malachite on matrix. The Calcite twin shows excellent form, and we've done our best to illustrate it in the video, but it looks even better in person. No major damage that I can find anywhere. It would make a great addition to any collection of worldwide Calcites, twinned crystals or minerals from Tsumeb. Originally valued at $850 in the inventory of Mineral Classics.
