A remarkable and exquisite calcite from this extinct New Jersey Traprock quarry. A 2.4 cm, glassy, translucent, light yellow, twinned calcite crystal with frosted faces is elegantly perched on a dense bed of sparkly, colorless, calcite rhombs. The twin is complete all-around and very nearly pristine. You can barely see the slight cleave on the upper edge next to the twinning plane. This stunning piece looks great from either side. Faint pink fluorescence on both calcites. Very rare and choice material from this locale from the Cynthia Payne Calcite Collection. Valued by the former dealer at $495 and worth it.
