Item Description

Radiant doubly terminated, glassy luster Calcite twin perfectly perched on a white Baryte matrix from the famous Elmwood Mine in Tennessee. This little jewel of a crystal varies from a translucent slightly cloudy center at the twinning plane to gem clear transparent terminations. The complete Calcite crystal measures 5.2 x 2.1 x 2.0 cm. There are also numerous tiny black inclusions, possibly Sphalerite, that can be seen within the Calcite. The piece is in excellent condition with only the slightest of rub on the termination. A very elegant Calcite with sharp crystallography and a super aesthetic display. Ex. Cynthia Payne collection, noted for perfect and aesthetic calcites in this size range.
