Calcite (superb twinned crystal) (rare for the locality)

You don't see many specimens from this locality on the market today, and this particular specimen dates back to the 1980s. I can't remember having another like it to offer in the auctions, and if you collect worldwide Calcites, twinned crystals or minerals from the United States, this is a MUST HAVE specimens. This piece features a pronounced, sharp, euhedral, very well-formed, gorgeous golden-yellow colored twinned crystal group of Calcite measuring 2.6 cm across associated with several smaller single rhombic Calcite crystals sitting on a layer of small, very sparkly, glassy Analcime crystals on matrix. The Calcites display a bright ghostly yellow-white fluorescence under UV light. No major damage to the display side of the piece, but there are a few tiny superficial imperfections, and obviously it's contacted on the back where it was removed from the pocket wall. A really interesting and special Calcite from this lesser known quarry that lies about 30 miles southwest of Portland, Oregon. Priced in the inventory at $1,800.
