Old classics from the 1960s and prior days of mining here...Perched aesthetically on cherty matrix is a lustrous and translucent, preferentially frosted, golden amber colored calcite crystal, measuring 6.3 cm in length. Contrasting crystals of matte luster, battleship-gray, galena to 1 cm across along with lustrous crystals of black sphalerite, to 1 cm across, underlie the calcite.Classic for the old Tri-State district from the Kansas and Missouri.
