Calcite rose - included by sand, ex Sorbonne

Unusual! Some few places in the world produce these bizarre floater specimens of calcite which included sand in the crystals literally even as they formed. Old French pieces are mong the finest and sharpest, but rarely seen for sale (i have seen some with labels hundreds of years old). This is a complete floater, a "sand calcite" cluster is comprised of several individual crystals, to 5 cm in length. The color is a very attractive light golden amber. Ex.
