Item Description
From the pocket that produced the famous "red phantom" calcite crystals in 1998, this fine example is lustrous and translucent with a mostly golden amber color, save for the intense reddish orange color zoning in the upper half of the crystal. It is a gorgeous and proportional example with color and luster from the Cynthia Payne calcite collection. The piece is complete all around and actually viewable from all sides, though it has a contact on one face where another crystal was once attached. The termination is complete all around and the inclusion is very sharp for this material. These are almost never for sale. I have not seen another for sale in a decade. Valued $1000-1500
