Item Description

Mineral specimens are RARE from Lampasas County in the Texas Hill Country and on the north side of the Llano Uplift. Cretaceous-aged sedimentary rocks underlay most of the county. MINDAT illustrates only celestine specimens, but does list calcite. Sharp, colorless dogtooth calcite crystals, to 2.8 cm, fill a large sculptural geode in limestone matrix. Pink fluorescence.
