Item Description
A surreal elongated bent cave calcite helectite from a limited 2008 find in China. This is not a stalactite. A portion of lustrous, glassy piece is water-clear, colorless gem calcite while adjacent translucent areas have stunning rich burnt-orange iron oxide tinting. Every turn presents a different aspect to this fasinating calcite. Very interesting chemistry here. The Chenzhou area of Hunan is famous for outstanding calcites, but these remain unique, despite all that have been found since then.
