Calcite (RARE locality specimen)

On a worldwide scale, this may not look like a significant Calcite specimen, but its value lies in the rare locality from which it hails, the Qastel Quarry in Jerusalem, Israel. This small cabinet specimen features drusy sparkling soft golden colored micro crystals of Calcite which cover nearly every side of the craggy three-dimensional underlying matrix. The Calcites have formed in semi-botryoidal groups, which gives the piece a character and a certain style / appeal that you don't often see in the species. A must have for any Calcite collector, as they are virtually impossible to find on the market.
