Calcite (rare locality)

A very attractive and hard to find specimen of Calcite from the lesser-known Bismark Mine in northern Chihuahua. Specimens from this obscure zinc skarn deposit are almost impossible to obtain, and this is one of the best examples we've ever had to offer in the auctions. This mine is actually better known for excellent Wulfenite specimens, which are not terribly common on the market anymore either. This piece is a showy and find quality group featuring sharp, lustrous, well-formed, scalenohedral crystals with a light pinkish hue on one edge, and minor attached matrix. The piece is in great shape, though one of the secondary terminations has a small cleave on it. If you collect Calcites or minerals of Mexico, this is a rare locality piece that would make a good addition to any collection. Ex Presmyk / De Natura specimen.
