Calcite (rare locale)

One does not see many Calcites from Pakistan, let alone one that was found at the Skardu Airport! This piece hosts a sharp, silky, colorless/white scalenohedral crystals of Calcite on matrix. The largest crystal measures 2.5 cm, and despite a few broken crystals, is in excllent condition. Attention Calcite collectors, you can't afford to miss out on this one! According to Wikipedia, this locality "is a domestic civil airport and military airbase located in Skardu, Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan. It is connected with Pakistan's capital, Islamabad, and Gilgit, the provincial capital of Gilgit-Baltistan, through regular Pakistan International Airlines flights. It also serves as a Forward Operating Base of the Pakistan Air Force."
