Item Description

A good quality group of sharp, semi-lustrous, striated, nearly colorless / white scalenohedra of Calcite with good internal gemminess / translucency from this lesser known locality in Maryland. The locality is not really known for producing collector quality specimens, and this is honestly one of only two Calcites I've seen from this quarry. I think it's a great reference specimen for a Calcite collector, a collector of Maryland minerals or just interesting U.S. specimens. Good shape for the most part, but contacted/cleaved on the bottom. The label accompanying the piece states that it was collected in the summer of 1997 from the "Lucky 13 Pocket".
