Mineral specimens from the Kentucky portion of this renowned fluorite district are RARE compared to the tons and tons from the Illinois side. Calcites of this quality and size are EXTREMELY RARE! This is a large, sharp, lustrous, translucent, tan, nailhead calcite rhomb with additional crystals attached on the left side. Essentially pristine, amazing for a soft old-timer. Rich straw-yellow fluorescence! The piece displays nicely without aid. Ex Bob Trimingham Collection and calculated to be an old-timer from the 1950s. Value??
