Calcite (RARE Irish locality!) (ex Tim Sherburn Collection)

This is the ONLY specimen of Calcite that we've ever had to offer from this lesser-known lead-zinc mine that lies about 50 miles northwest of Dublin. This beautiful piece features HIGHLY lustrous, sparkling, colorless, "dog tooth" habit crystals of Calcite which have overgrown a previous generation of white opaque Calcite underneath, and are accented by inclusions of an unknown grey mineral. There are a few bruises on the piece, so it's not 100% damage free, but it's still a fine quality and showy overall specimen. This piece comes to us from the collection of Tim Sherburn, a well-known collector from San Diego who among other things assembled a fine suite of minerals from the UK and Ireland over his nearly 50 years of collecting minerals.
