Item Description

This lustrous, translucent, straw-yellow calcite crystal is aesetically perched on small cubes of very dark grape-purple fluorite. The crystal looks like a highly modified/etched rhomb in most orientations. HOWEVER, in other orientations the calcite has the appearence of a striking stacked cluster of flattened, nailhead rhombs! Highly unusual for the famous Minerva Mine. Ex Ross Lillie Collection # 0923. His handwritten note on a label states: "Mined 11-91 from the "Cross-cut" orebody. In Minerva #1 this habit is unique to cross-cut orebody." BETTER IN PERSON!
