Item Description
Calcite is EXTREMELY RARE from the Alpine-type deposits at Tormiq, well-known for outstanding epidote, clinozoisite, diopside, titanite and adularia specimens. This impressive large combination plate is richly covered with glassy, translucent to transparent, complex calcite rhombs to 4.0 cm. The feldspar matrix is peppered with small pearlescent muscovite plates and a few small scattered quartz points add pizzazz. Pink fluorescence. Nearly pristine, with only gentle bruising to a few calcites. This is an exceptional and rare large calcite plate from the Herb Obodda dealer stock. Valued by Herb at $1600 more than 6 years ago. It is worth more today. A MUST for the species or locality collector.
