Calcite specimens are EXTREMELY RARE from any of the numerous localities in the Juneau District listed by MINDAT! Highly unusual, straw-yellow flattened rhombs with striking stepped-growth faces fill the large sculptural curved vug on this very interesting and rare specimen from the Bob Trimingham Collection. Faint reddish-pink fluorescence. Calcite is not listed by MINDAT for the only locality listed on the Whiting River. Perhaps unique?? A must for the species or Alaska collector.
