Item Description

Calcite and quartz specimens are extremely rare from the famous mines at Neudorf, renowned for world-class galena and siderite specimens. A striking, 3.2 x 2.7 x 1.7 cm, frosted, translucent, nail-head calcite rhomb dramatically stands upright on the matrix of smaller calcite rhombs. The large rhomb is complete all-around and nearly pristine, with only an out-of-sight edge bruise on the back side. A MAJOR suprise is that the bottom of the piece is covered with glassy quartz points. An outstanding, old and rare combination specimen from this historic locale. Ex.
