Calcite & Quartz (classic locale) ex Obodda

A sculptural and most interesting large combination from this most historic locale and the Herb Obodda dealer stock. Undoubtably an old-timer, this striking piece has three generations of quartz crystals and large elongated calcite rhombs. Very glassy, translucent, colorless quartz crystals cover the massive quartz matrix plate. Elongated calcite rhombs, to 5.3 cm, are aesthetically stacked/set on the plate. Note that the rhombs are slightly curved! Two generations of drusy quartz coat the calcites, with the last generation of larger crystals preferentially deposited on one end of the rhombs. Very unusual. Quartz is not that common from the many mines at Freiberg. Value of such an interesting and artistic combination from this classic locale??
