Item Description

Mineral specimens are very uncommon from this obscure Peru mine and calcite, pyrite and fluorite combinations of this exceptional and aesthetic quality are EXTREMELY RARE. A well-placed 1.7 cm, unusually shaped, two-toned, doubly terminated lustrous and translucent calcite crystal is surrounded by splendent, partially iridescent, brassy pyritohedrons, to 9 mm, and pretty gemmy light lavender fluorite cubes. The calcite has moderate orange fluorescence and the fluorite has moderate purple fluorescence. Choice, rare, rich and very high quality material from the locale and the Tom Wolfe Calcite Collection. The piece displays well from either side.
